Ideally situated on a quiet country road, and yet just a two minute stroll from some of Doolin’s famous traditional Irish music pubs and restaurants, the recently opened Piper’s Rest is the perfect place for you to stay while exploring this stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Your Place to Stay on the Wild Atlantic Way
If you are looking for a place to stay on the edge of the Atlantic, you could not get better than Doolin. Nestling at the foot of the famous Cliffs of Moher, this harbour village is also your departure point for a trip to the Aran Islands which lie at the mouth of Galway Bay with daily ferry sailings throughout the summer months. Walk the cliffs to O’Brien’s Tower, or ramble along the many country lanes which criss-cross the famous Burren landscape.
Surf or play golf in nearby Lahinch, walk on the beach in Fanore and watch the sun set on the bay from the rocks by the harbour before heading into the village to experience some of the traditional music for which the village is famed.
Sustainability Practices In Place:
As part of its commitment to sustainable tourism, The Pipers Rest has put the following practices in place:
- For energy the B&B relies on a solar PV installation that feeds unused energy back into the local grid, helping to reduce its carbon footprint.
- To reduce food waste, guests are asked to pre-order their breakfast the night before. This ensures that the kitchen can prepare the exact amount of food needed.
- The breakfast menu features locally sourced produce, including home-grown tomatoes and strawberries straight from our polytunnel (when in season).
- Any food waste generated is recycled as far as possible. Leftovers are either fed to animals on a local farm or composted in the B&Bs garden
- Eggs used in breakfast dishes are free-range and locally sourced.
- We offer guests the option to decline daily housekeeping services which helps reduce the amount of chemicals and laundry needed and allows us to conserve resources.
- We have eliminated single use plastics and replaced them with refillable bottles.
By making a conscious effort to reduce waste and support local producers, The Pipers Rest is doing its part to promote sustainable tourism.
